Anonymity.
To be an interpreter is to not be noticed as such. You have to be a bridge, almost literally, and let people walk all over you to get where they need to go. Sure, they might occasionally admire the craftsmanship or learn in passing a little of what created such a useful thing, but that's an appreciative gesture rather than an expectant one. When I attended a comedy show the other day and the two comedians congratulated the interpreters in the front row for their hard work, I was both gratified and surprised.
Gratified because a simple thank you means a lot.
And surprised because that's a hell of a lot in the long run.
I will work with anyone from ignorant and demanding deaf individuals to patient and accepting clients. But no matter what, I will not be known. My signing, dexterity and professionalism is my barrier, shielding me from questions, the brunt of embarrassment and obligation outside of my craft.
It will be the same with my art, will it not?
I don't need to show off my figure to be happy. I don't need to spill my deepest secrets. My art will do most of the talking for me. I can conceal my face beneath my ideas, my characters, my biggest painting to my silliest doodle.
Sure, this could be the aloof, distant part of me speaking. This could be my desire to be as secretive and indirect as possible as not to be used, hurt, or pulled from side to side in a sea of ridiculous responsibilities that matter to everyone else except for me. I know I'm being a bit selfish here.
But in the long run, I don't ask for much. Some privacy here, a little courtesy there, and the ability to let me be unknown when I ask.
...
Let's see, I've been both busy, getting things done... and being really addicted to the computer. Seriously, I sit my ass down in my chair and suddenly it's three hours later. This needs to stop.
Let's use a bullet form to capture just what I did manage to do! Holy!
Now some crap.
Anyways, here's my FA. Say hi if you have an account there!

Now, I have a question, since I recently got in the subject of dreams and their interpretations. I'm curious about the patterns of others. I remember most of my dreams quite vividly and among the people I know this is rather odd. Ever since I was a kid I've had many dreams about flying, losing my teeth ugh , being chased, protecting my loved ones/myself and interacting with individuals, friend or stranger, in my life. Lately I've been having a lot of surreal and cinematic dreams, occasionally involving my characters. I haven't had a nightmare in years.
Which brings me to my questions: Do you remember your dreams? Do you see a pattern in them? If possible, can you recall a dream that's really stuck with you?
